Sometimes I start a mix or remix & then trash it because I'm not satisfied with it. However, I've learned over the years that just because I don't like it, doesn't mean many other people won't. That being said, I stuck this one out & decided to add it to the collection in hopes that someone may enjoy this alternate version of a classic song... Let The Music Play by Shannon.

This remix has the original vocals with some of the original melody as well. However, it has been dropped over a popular, slightly revised, hip hop beat from about 10 years ago. Check it out & be sure to download it if you enjoyed it!!

The year 2011 brought some great music!! We were revisited by smash artists such as Britney Spears, Pitbull & Chris Brown while we got to see breakthrough artists such as LMFAO, Tyga, & Yelawolf. There were also some incredible underground artists puttin' in some serious work... such as Hopsin, Apollo the Great, & Mac Miller.

The underground scene was bubbling right beneath the surface with Mac Miller doing a song with fellow Pittsburgh rapper Wiz Khalifa and New Jersey's own Apollo the Great puttin' in some stage time with Slaughterhouse's own Joell Ortiz.

On the mainstream level, Drake has still owned many of the top spots through the year, dropping hit after hit after hit. Lil Wayne continues his industry dominance. Flo-Rida is still going hard with his mainstream club bangers!! French producer David Guetta has dropped a number of hits this year featuring many of the biggest names in hip hop. Not to mention LMFAO's chart dominance with the electro pop hit Party Rock Anthem and it's follow up hit Sexy & I Know it.

All in all, it's been a great year in music and is worthy of a compilation of the year's best!! Please feel free to listen & download Quick Hitzzz 2011. I haven't found a decent extended version of Fast Lane by Bad Meets Evil, which is actually a hip hop duo consisting of Eminem & Royce Da 5'9", and is originally recorded on the album Hell: The Sequel . This simple extended mix is just over 6:00 and has a full 16 bar intro & outro for easy mixing, a party break, and has no tags in it. This is great for use at the club or any house parties. Hope everyone enjoys it!!

On the first year of a new decade, 2010 brought forth some great musical memories to our ears. We experienced several breakthrough artists doing huge numbers. We also saw several established artists continuing their trends of musical dominance. This year was indeed a year to remember the music.

Of all the top artists in 2010, Nicki Minaj was probably the most active. She was on virtually everyone's tracks... from Trey Songz to Jay Sean to Sean Kingston . She also released her debut album "Pink Friday" which contained several of her own hits, from "Your Love" to "Right Thru Me".

Another breakthrough artist this year was Ke$ha , who blew up the airwaves with song after song from "Your Love Is My Drug" to "We R Who We R". Her combination of dance & hip hop has been widely accepted by her fans, not only on the radio, but in the club as well.

The next breakthrough artist actually started his career in 2009, but has been featured on many songs this year as well as releasing his 2nd studio album. Drake is a hot commodity in the music industry this year. He has been featured on songs from Rihanna to Lil Wayne .... and all of them are hits. Drake has a great future ahead of him.

The year 2010 also saw the return of many of our favorites from a few years ago. Pitbull found himself featured on numerous tracks from Enrique Iglesias to Usher as well as releasing a new album. T-Pain also put in some work this year and his "auto-tuned" voice was heard on the radio quite a bit, especially after the summer months. T.I. was released from prison and wasted no time getting back into the studio and dropping a barrage of hits from "I'm Back" to "Got Your Back".

So, in honor of this great year in music, I've created a 2 hour, iPod friendly tribute to the artists & songs that made this such a great year. Quick Hitzz 2010 features all the artists mentioned and many many more. Be sure to check it out. You won't regret it.

Pocket Party is a cutting edge 4 hour mix designed specifically for use with your iPod. Armed with this mix loaded in your iPod, you can transform any dull party into a dance club, or even keep the party going if you can't afford to keep the DJ spinning for another hour or 2. Each of the 78 tracks in this mix are seperate, so you can either skip forward or backwards... or pick any track individually to play. All of the tracks blend together seamlessly to make one long-playing mix, which can be used to replace the house stereo or jukebox at a bar, especially good for when there's no DJ available to spin.

There are 2 versions of the Pocket Party mix, HQ (High quality) and Lo-Q (lower quality). As the name says, the HQ version is a higher quality version of the mix, encoded at 192 kbps. This version is better for playing on any higher end sound system, such as a car stereo or even home stereo. As a DJ, I recommend this version of the mix. The only drawback of the HQ vesion is that it sacrifices memory in order to retain it's quality. There is also the Lo-Q version, which is encoded at 96 kbps. This version could potentially be used in a higher end stereo system, but will not sound as good as the HQ version. The benefit of using this version is that it will save valuable iPod memory space, yet still deliver the same 4 hour mix to your ears. The difference in memory between the 2 mixes is about 170mb (HQ: 330mb Lo-Q: 160mb). So, if you are only planning to listen to Pocket Party in your headphones & are strapped for memory, download the Lo-Q version.

His kindness led him into the Guiness Book of World Records as being the only person ever to support 39 charities. Michael Jackson was not only a great entertainer, but most likely the greatest entertainer ever to set foot on a stage. Upon his passing, millions of people... from around the world.... cried. New Baby Girl

Off topic from music & mixes, my fiance & I found out on Thursday, June 11 that we will be having a baby girl. We almost didn't find out because she was moving all over the place...plus the cord was down between her legs so it was hard for the tech to see. But, nonetheless, there will be a little baby girl added to the fam before the end of the year!!

A couple of days later (after alot of disagreements), Heather & I decided (pretty much) on a name. We're looking at Caylee Grace-Anne. Caylee is a name that we both like. Grace is from Heather's grandmother and Anne is from my mom. So, it looks like the name thing is down. Now, we gotta start gettin all the baby things!!

Also, with the completion (and success) of Summer Heat 2009, I plan on beginning my journey into hip hop's history with my 2 cd tribute to 30 years of hip hop. This will (most likely) be a summer project. Also, with my wedding coming up on July 18th as well as helping my mom move in the same month, I don't foresee the project being fully completed until sometime in August. I will, however, keep everyone updated on the status. I am also hoping to squeeze in a 2nd edition of Rock vs. Rap (view track list and listen here) this year, too... especially with the enormous amount of positive feedback and cd sales of the original. I've been getting alot of requests for this one, so I am hoping to get round 2 done sometime before November.

Welcome to my blog!! I am new to this, so (please) bear with me as I learn while I go.

My first post will be my Summer Heat 2009 mixtape link. Summer Heat 2009 consists of new hip hop as well as throwbacks. It also contains blendz and mixes exclusive to this cd. You can access the mix directly by clicking HERE. You can also download it via my MIXXES page or simply listen to it there (on the flash player). The whole cd is not your typical mixtape. It is a long-playing mix that is meant to be played at a party or even a club. The drops are tastefully added, but not overplayed. I just uploaded this to my own server 2 days ago, so it is still brand new. In fact, I haven't even finished duplicating the master cd, yet.

This mix is guaranteed to stay in your home stereo or car throughout the summer and even into the fall. If you enjoy hip hop, you will enjoy the creative blending of the music on this cd.

You can also download the mixtape in a ZIP file here or by clicking on the album art. The ZIP file contains an mp3 of each individual track as well as the cd art and contact information. The ZIP file is 117MB and encoded at 192kb/sec. The benefit of downloading this is the ability to burn the mixtape to cd (using burning software such as Nero) with much ease once it is downloaded and extracted.
