G Yamazawa - North Cack (Funk Mix)

Underground artist G Yamazawa has been making noise in the Durham region of North Carolina for several years. Raised in a Buddhist household, Yamazawa has been a National Poetry Slam Finalist as well as a finalist in many other poetry competitions. His freestyle ability is top notch as well as his delivery. Now, he's making noise internationally with his latest release North Cack, which features fellow North Carolina artists Joshua Gunn & Kane Smego.

A friend of mine is promoting Yamazawa and put me on to his music, which (as a huge fan of hip hop) I was instantly attracted to. Therefore, there was no question that I had to put my own twist to this incredible track that was only released a few months ago. With a funk twist, I added several samples from the likes of Kool & the Gang & the Honey Drippers to North Cack, giving it a more jazzy/funk feel. You can stream North Cack (Funk Mix) right here or at djdiamonddog.com. You can also  download it free of charge. And don't forget to support G Yamazawa by purchasing the original version of North Cack as well as the album, Shouts To Durham, available on both Amazon & iTunes.

702 - Steelo (Swalla Mix)

One of the great pop/R&B groups of the mid to late 90's was 702. They released several chart toppers during their tenure including All I Want, Where My Girls At and Steelo. Steelo was the group's debut single from their first album, No Doubt and features hip hop icon Missy Elliott. The song peaked at #32 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The Swalla Mix of Steelo features the beat from Jason Derulo's 2017 hit Swalla backing up the vocals from 702 & Missy Elliott. It is a very high energy version of this song to bring it back to the club scene 21 years after it's original debut. You can stream Steelo (Swalla Mix) right here or at djdiamonddog.com and you can also download it here for your own offline library. The download contains a regular clean version and a clean 8 bar intro & outro untagged version for the DJ's.

There are plenty of new mixes in the works including material from R-City, Ne-Yo and
T LA Rock!!
