Len - Steal My Sunshine (ft 50 Cent)

In 1999, Canadian indie pop band Len released a song that can still be heard and enjoyed to this day, almost 20 years later. Steal My Sunshine was a huge pop success in the summer of 1999 and was the lead single released from their debut album, You Can't Stop The Bum Rush. The song is the essence of a happy, sunshine pop song. In late 2017, at djdiamonddog.com, I've decided to remix this one (which, by the way, is still one of my favorite pop songs of all time) and add a little hip hop flavor from rap giant, 50 Cent. The original vocals from Fifty can be heard from his single Disco Inferno which is available on his 2005 album, the Massacre.

While retaining much of the original sound, the Steal My Sunshine (rabid remix) boasts a bit of a percussion increase along with some samples to go along with the 2 verses from 50 Cent. You can stream Steal My Sunshine (rabid remix) right here or at djdiamonddog.com (you can also stream the video below). If you're the type that wants your music available locally, then be sure to download it here. The download contains the radio version, an instrumental, and an extended untagged version for the DJ's.

T-Pain - I'm Sprung (Work From Home Mix)

In 2005, T-Pain turned the hip hop/R&B world upside down with the use of autotune on his smash hit I'm Sprung... from the album Rappa Ternt Sanga. The hit was a cross-genre hit, receiving accolades in the hip hop, pop and r&b charts. In 2017, I've crossed this one up with another big hit. This one from 2016 by the Miami pop group Fifth Harmony, Work From Home (form the album 24/7) goes very well with I'm Sprung, creating a sound that spans 11 years.

You can stream I'm Sprung (Work From Home Mix) right here and at djdiamonddog.com. You can also access the fully free download and even watch the remixed music video below. Remember, this heat is brought to you by the Modern Throwbacks Mixtape, which combines hit songs from different eras, making them appealing to all age groups.

Stay tuned for more releases soon!! Also, Thanksgiving is only 3 days away! I'd like to wish everyone a very happy and safe Thanksgiving!!

Fugees - Ready Or Not (Fly High Mix)

The second single installment from the Modern Throwbacks mixtape features a 90's classic by the Fugees. Ready or Not (from their album The Score) was not only a hit in the US, but a huge success in Europe as well. Combined with Jim Jones' hottest track on his resume, We Fly High (from his album POME [Product of my Environment]), this blend takes on a much higher energy than the original version.

Take a minute and sample this one because it's guaranteed to please all ears. You can stream the audio above, stream the video at Vimeo or below and download the single here. The download link features both clean and dirty versions as well as extended intro and outro untagged versions for the DJ's. All in high quality!!

Don't sleep on this one or the Modern Throwbacks mixtape, which features this track and 24 other hot blends, including Young MA - Ooouuu (AF1 Mix). Stay tuned for more single releases from the mixtape dropping soon!!

Young MA - OOOUUU (AF1 Mix)

Although widely known on the underground circuit, Young M.A. came through the mainstream in 2016, smashing everyone in her way, with the hit OOOUUU. OOOUUU takes the hardcore, gritty street sound (that is so often associated with hip hop) and added in lyrics complete with an uncanny amount of wordplay and metaphors, making it enjoyable to listen to. OOOUUU is from her first album, HerStory, which is available on Amazon and itunes.

As a proponent of old school hip hop, I found a beat ( Air Force Ones by Nelly) that worked to pefection with Young MA's already phenomenal vocal skills. Inspired from the Modern Throwbacks mixtape, the OOOUUU (AF1 Mix) is now online for everyone and the download features both clean & dirty versions as well as tag-free DJ intro & outros. If you like Young MA, I recommend sampling OOOUUU (AF1 Mix) and taking advantage of the free, HQ download for your personal music library. I've also added a video for OOOUUU (AF1 Mix) since I really enjoy it so much!!

I appreciate the support from everyone, everywhere. There are folks who show me alot of love for my mix releases and for that, I am blessed. Thank you so much. Another one in the books, and more to come soon!!

Modern Throwbacks

Throughout the past 40 years that hip hop has been a part of American life, there have been a huge number of songs that have touched us and become timeless throughout the decades. Although the genres have changed through the years, most notably in the recent decade, there are still songs being put out that will be timeless in the next 30-40 years. The idea that all of these songs are great in their own way... with their own appeal... inspired me to put together Modern Throwbacks. This is a 70 minute mix with the theme of fusing older beats with newer lyrics and vice versa. With 25 tracks included, Modern Throwbacks will give you a whole new perspective of the songs included. Even if there's a song that you may not have liked, it will take on a whole new feel when combined with another song from a completely different era.

Modern Throwbacks is a must-hear mix for everyone. I guarantee there will be many (if not all) tracks that you will absolutely love. So, in the tradition of my uploads, please take a moment to sample the Modern Throwbacks audio and download the full mix for your local audio player for free. This is a new style mix that you won't want to miss and be sure to share it with your friends. Everyone should be bumping this one!! You can also download the mixtape here, which comes with each track as an individual mp3. All downloads are also available at djdiamonddog.com

Eminem - the Donald Trump Cypher Mixes

Three days ago, on October 10, 2017, the internet was set on fire with Eminem's BET cypher that took some serious shots at Donald Trump and his (non) ability to perform his presidential duties. The clip has been viewed over 25 million times in the past 3 days and has set off some serious debates among fans and critics alike. His jabs are serious and meant to influence people to stand up against what is wrong.

Since the cypher is a full acapella, I was inspired to add some background to it. I've included both a throwback version as well as a trap version, both of which carry the influential message fully. The throwback mix utilizes a classic beat from Biggie... Hypnotize, while the trap mix bumps hard with Drake's 10 Bands. You can download both versions here to add to your local music library. I've also taken the liberty to put video to both of these mixes. You can view the trap version of the video here and/or you can view the throwback version here.

I've still got more audio in the lab as I write this. I've got some Ne-Yo on deck & some super tight blends/mashups as well. I'll be dropping more soon!! Thank you very much to all of you who support me.

R City - Locked Away (Hotline Mix)

download R-City - Locked Away (Hotline Mix)

Two hot songs from about a decade apart!! In the mid 2000's, Pretty Ricky (who were blazing hot at the time) released On The Hotline from their album Late Night Special. The song was a hit, reaching 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 that year. With it's sex-appealing lyrics, this song was (and still is) a favorite in the clubs. Almost a decade later, R-City released Locked Away, which was equally successful, reaching number 6 on the Hot 100.

Where else can you go to get the raw and real lyrics of Locked Away lined up with the incredible beat from On The Hotline, with a touch of 50 Cent as well? That's right. Right here!! You can stream Locked Away (Hotline Mix) right here or at djdiamondog.com and you can also download it for your personal collection here, too. Check it out and drop some feedback at my Facebook page or my Twitter page.

There's more new material on the way, including stuff from Jason Derulo, Ne-Yo and a throwback from T-LA Rock!!

Delinquent Habits - California (Mambo-Hop Mix)

Back after many years off, Delinquent Habits opened up 2017 strong with the release of their new track, California, which expresses the group's love for their home state. This new track is featured on their latest album, It Could Be Round 2, which is currently available on Amazon & iTunes.

As requested by one of the promoters of Delinquent Habits, I have put together this remix of California, which is very abstract as compared to most of my remixes. This remix features a raw hip hop beat (as sampled from Rakim's Paid in Full, but with stronger percussion) combined with a Mambo sound featuring the trumpets as sampled from Lou Bega's Mambo No. 5. You can stream this mix directly to your PC and also download it for your local music collection. I also have a remix video available for streaming here.

If you enjoy the remix, please show me some love on my facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages. Looking to get something mixed up for a special occasion? Get at me. I can combine virtually anything you're looking for. Salute to all my supporters!! I'll have more online soon!!

G Yamazawa - North Cack (Funk Mix)

Underground artist G Yamazawa has been making noise in the Durham region of North Carolina for several years. Raised in a Buddhist household, Yamazawa has been a National Poetry Slam Finalist as well as a finalist in many other poetry competitions. His freestyle ability is top notch as well as his delivery. Now, he's making noise internationally with his latest release North Cack, which features fellow North Carolina artists Joshua Gunn & Kane Smego.

A friend of mine is promoting Yamazawa and put me on to his music, which (as a huge fan of hip hop) I was instantly attracted to. Therefore, there was no question that I had to put my own twist to this incredible track that was only released a few months ago. With a funk twist, I added several samples from the likes of Kool & the Gang & the Honey Drippers to North Cack, giving it a more jazzy/funk feel. You can stream North Cack (Funk Mix) right here or at djdiamonddog.com. You can also  download it free of charge. And don't forget to support G Yamazawa by purchasing the original version of North Cack as well as the album, Shouts To Durham, available on both Amazon & iTunes.

702 - Steelo (Swalla Mix)

One of the great pop/R&B groups of the mid to late 90's was 702. They released several chart toppers during their tenure including All I Want, Where My Girls At and Steelo. Steelo was the group's debut single from their first album, No Doubt and features hip hop icon Missy Elliott. The song peaked at #32 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The Swalla Mix of Steelo features the beat from Jason Derulo's 2017 hit Swalla backing up the vocals from 702 & Missy Elliott. It is a very high energy version of this song to bring it back to the club scene 21 years after it's original debut. You can stream Steelo (Swalla Mix) right here or at djdiamonddog.com and you can also download it here for your own offline library. The download contains a regular clean version and a clean 8 bar intro & outro untagged version for the DJ's.

There are plenty of new mixes in the works including material from R-City, Ne-Yo and
T LA Rock!!

Oh What A Night (Kat Deluna vs. Frankie Valli)

Today I have a fusion of 2 songs that are basically the same melody. Originally, Franki Valli & the 4 Seasons released the smash hit December 1963 (Oh What A Night), which has remained popular for over a half century. This is a song you will hear at almost any wedding as well as many other events where oldies can be heard. Fast forward to 2016... Kat Deluna incorporates that original melody into a newer version entitled What A Night featuring Jeremih. Although not as popular as the original by Frankie Valli, Deluna's version certainly sounds good as an R&B/Pop alternative.

Download Oh What A Night (Kat Deluna vs. Frankie Valli)

Stay tuned to djdiamonddog.com for more releases coming soon, including sounds from 702, Ne-Yo and Jason Derulo!

Soulja Boy - Crank Dat (Humblemix)

The summer of 2007 was taken by storm with the release of Crank That by Soulja Boy. After some success with this song and dance that goes with it, Soulja Boy was signed by Mr Collipark who put this song in the mainstream where it reigned as the summer anthem for that year and is still played a decade later.

Experiencing equal success 10 years later, Kendrick Lamar dropped an album that may be considered one of the best in hip hop history... Damn. Leading things off from his new album, Humble has enjoyed mainstream success at the top of the Billboard charts throughout the summer, making it one of 2017's biggest tracks.

With the fusion of these 2 tracks, you can enjoy the dance of Crank Dat, but to a much more modern beat in Humble. You can stream this new remix right here or at djdiamonddog.com. You can also download it for free at this link.

Sunshine Skateway Reunion Mix

Sunshine Skateway... Homestead, Florida!! This was my stomping ground as a youth. And from the 70's into the late 80's (when it was changed over into an ice skating arena) this was where everybody who was anybody went. Roller skating was huge at the time, but there was also dancing off to the corner behind the cement wall. I was one of the skaters at the time. And, as many others will remember, we rolled the floor in packs... breaking apart when coming up on slower skaters... only to regroup on the other side. There were SO MANY people that I grew up with and still remain friends with to this day. I won't even mention any names because I fear I may miss someone, but my Sunshine Skateway peeps all know who they are because they all hung out at the same place!!

This mix was made for a 25 year reunion of the folks I came of age with at the place I called my 2nd home. The big sounds for roller skating are present in this mix, which would primarily include electro, freestyle, miami bass, disco, funk and some dance-pop. This was what we rolled to and I am happy to share this mix with everyone now that our reunion has passed. This is a far cry from most present day music, but the high energy and big beats kept us rolling every weekend!!

I wanna send a shout to ALL of my Sunshine Skateway people. I am blessed to know all of you.

Bee Gees - Stayin' Alive (rabid remix) [ft CL Smooth]

One of the most recognizable tunes in the history of music could very well be the Bee Gees' Stayin' Alive. Straight from the 1977 soundtrack for Saturday Night Fever, Stayin' Alive crossed all genres and musical eras to remain one of the greatest songs of all time

Remixed for the new era, Stayin' Alive (rabid remix) features a new drum beat and a verse from hip hop's very own CL Smooth. This is a nice alternative to the regular track and can be used at almost any party or bar. You can stream Stayin' Alive (rabid remix) here and you can also download it for your local music library completely free of charge. This is what djdiamonddog.com is all about, sharing great mixes because great music should be accessible to everyone.

There are plenty more mixes in the works now including a classic long play old school roller skating mix as well as some stuff from Kat Deluna, Silento and Soulja Boy.

Lil Jon - Get Low (Dessert Remix)

This one is pretty self explanatory. Get Low by Lil Jon & the Eastside Boyz, from the album Kings of Crunk (2002), is a timeless track for any spot that is spinning dance/ booty shaking music period. Everyone knows this track and can recite the lyrics "To the window, to the wall...!" Dawin's Dessert experienced mild success in 2015 with another set of memorable lyrics "what'cha gonna, what'cha gonna do with that dessert?"

These 2 combined just give Get Low a whole new flavor. You can stream this one to your pc (in either clean or dirty versions) at djdiamonddog.com so you can get a nice taste for the sound. I have also put together a video for the remix that you can view above. If you like this track & want to add it to your library, you can access the free, instant download here. Also, for all my fellow DJ's out there, this download comes complete with clean & dirty versions with 8 bar intros & outros that are completely untagged.

Thanks to everyone for your support. I will have more uploads soon!

Can You Stand The Rain (Urban Dance Mix)

The year was 1987. New Edition's future was in question. Bobby Brown had departed. Rumors had surfaced that lead singer Ralph Tresvant was planning on pursuing a solo career. The group's remaining three members, Mike, Ronnie & Ricky, had voted singer Johnny Gill into the group to pad the potential departure of Ralph. The result of these moves will remain in our memories (and ears) forever. New Edition released Heart Break in 1988 and arguably one of the biggest hits from the album was Can You Stand The Rain. The original ballad took the hearts of every New Edition fan as well as everyone else.

Fast forward to 2017... 29 years later... the urban dance mix of this classic is remixed by yours truly. This is one of my all time favorite New Edition songs and I really wanted to put it back in people's heads. I kept the original song 99% intact (with minor alterations) but added a more uptempo beat to it. Can You Stand The Rain (urban dance mix) can be downloaded right here or at djdiamonddog.com free of charge. You can also stream both the audio and video here, as well. I urge everyone to take a listen to this one, especially if you're a New Edition fan. DJ's... the download contains an untagged 8 bar extended mix for your sets. Thank you for your support.

Heathens (Locked Up Mix)

Heathens was a worldwide smash hit, topping the Billboard charts in over 25 countries! Heathens is an alternative rock song with a very mellow vocal approach to it. Pushed by the hit movie Suicide Squad, Heathens found itself peaking at #2 on the US charts along side the group's other hit, Stressed Out, from their 4th studio album Blurryface.

How do you enhance a song with this much power? You cross it over. Since the video takes place inside a prison, what background beat would work better than Akon's Locked Up? Take this fundamental sound and include a verse from a 90's hip hop icon ( Tupac Shakur) and you have a hit that touches on the hip hop genre as well as pop/rock. The download is free and you can access it by clicking here. The download link includes 8 versions (clean & dirty, extended clean & dirty acappella clean & dirty, instrumental & an alternate version using the beat from I Got 5 On It by Luniz).

Can't wait to download it? Then stream it right here or at djdiamonddog.com. Are you more of a visual person? Then I got you covered. You can also check out the Heathens (Locked Up Mix) video.

Country Megamix II

Country music has long been an American tradition, from Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash to Brantley Gilbert & the Zac Brown Band. Country music, in the new millenium, remains popular in the mainstream with artists such as Sam Hunt and Florida Georgia Line hitting the number one spot in the Hot 100. The new age country has adapted and taken sounds from different popular genres such as rock and even hip hop in order to give it a new edge sound. It's definitely not the sad songs that were being released 50 years ago. The new country is much more upbeat.

It's been 8 long years since I dropped my last country megamix, which was used at a fireworks display, so I have decided it was time to put another one together. This one consists of both country, country rock and southern rock. You can check out the Country Mix II by streaming it here. If you want to listen to it locally, you can download it for free here.

Summer's almost here!! So check back for more new mixes at djdiamonddog.com!

Frankie Goes To Hollywood - Relax (rabid remix)

In 1984, when times were still much more conservative, one of the most overly sexualized songs was released. Originating from England, Frankie Goes to Hollywood dropped the sex-heavy hit Relax (Don't Do It) and it took over. At one point, the song was even banned by the BBC due to it's controversial lyrics, which the band stated were not sexual in nature. Nonetheless, the lyrics were received as sexual by everyone else. Relax peaked at #1 in the UK and at #10 in the US. Even now, 33 years later, the song remains widely recognized by audiences of all ages.

With the remix of Morning After Dark about a week ago and featuring a sample of this smash hit, it was clear to me that I wanted to remix the original song. The remix features a verse from Petey Pablo and upgraded percussion. It is a nice alternative to the original, especially with the increased bass. You can stream Relax (rabid remix) right here  and (as always) you can download it here for free as well.

Be sure to check back for more great summer remixes and mashups. Coming soon will be a long overdue country megamix!!

Timbaland - Morning After Dark (Relax Mix)

Timbaland's Morning After Dark was a mediocre hit in 2010. It featured the original Timbaland type sound combined with 2 of the featured artists on this remix... SoShy & Nelly Furtado. The song had a dark (but sexy) vampire theme... as described by Timbaland. It was also the debut for his new artist (at the time), SoShy.

The Relax Mix features a sample from a timeless classic that originated in the mid 80's... Relax by Frankie Goes To Hollywood, which was an overly sexual song for it's time. The melody is one of the most reognizable melodies of the decade and really sexualizes the song. Along some solid percussion and effects, this remix really adds a good floor appeal. You can stream the Relax Mix of Morning After Dark right here or at djdiamonddog.com. If you enjoy it, be sure to download it. The download also features an instrumental as an added bonus.

Stay tuned to djdiamonddog.com for more upcoming remixes to set your summer off right!!

Foundations (the evolution of hip hop/r&b)

The genres of hip hop and R&B are complex genres that were influenced by a number of different sounds. These genres, through time, evolved into what you hear today. Many people don't realize just how much influence is still involved in today's hip hop/r&b music. Samples of funk, disco and even rock & roll are often heard throughout the hip hop genre. And R&B has evolved from bands into mostly vocal groups through the use of digital production. But, if you listen close, you can still hear those influences from yesteryear in both genres.

Foundations takes you on a journey through the foundations that initiated today's music. You will hear the music that pioneered the hip hop genre as well as the highly influential genres that gradually evolved into today's r&b genre. You will hear icons such as James Brown and the Fatback Band in the same set with more recent artists such as Mariah Carey and Usher

With a 2 hour time span, Foundations is great to throw in your ride or even turn up at your next BBQ. The playlist is phenomenal and you can stream Foundations right here or at djdiamonddog.com as well as download it for data-free play on your local device.

Foundations (the evolution of hip hop/r&b) is a great mixtape for the old heads and young gunners as well. For the older folks, this will take you back. For the young folks, this will give you a new perspective. If you don't believe me, then check out the playlist....

01. Take Me There (Blackstreet ft Mya)
02. Thank God It's Friday (R. Kelly)

Down Off Yo Shoulda (Marian Hill vs. Jay-Z)

Marian Hill broke through in 2016 with her hit Down. The song has many similarities to another track that was released about 12 years earlier... Dirt Off Your Shoulder by Jay-Z. Both tracks entered the top 40 on the Billboard charts and both were widely accepted by multi-genre audiences. It seems that a fusion of these 2 songs was destined.

The fusion of these 2 (entitled Down Off Yo Shoulda) features vocals from both artists, beats from both tracks and melodies from both tracks. This is a great mashup for your next party. For the DJ's, it's also a great feature for early evening at your bar, lounge or club venue. You can stream Down Off Yo Shoulda above and you can also take advantage of the free download here.

There are many new mashups & other mixes in the lab right now!! So be sure to check djdiamonddog.com or simply follow me on Twitter, add me on Instagram or like me on Facebook to keep all the updates as they come out. Thanks for your support.

Don't Stop Losing Control

In 1981, an iconic song that's stood the test of time for over 35 years was released, Don't Stop Believin' by Journey. Known as one of Journey's signature tunes, Don't Stop Believin' still gets played to this day at many events as well as on the radio

Fast Forward 24 years. Lose Control is released by Missy Elliott and actually charts higher than Don't Stop Believin' did in 1981. Missy's addictive electro sound in this track makes everyone want to dance!

The fusion of these 2 songs creates something unparalleled. Combining that iconic piano melody from Journey with the upbeat electro beat from Missy makes for one hell of a mashup. Don't Stop Losing Control can be streamed right here or at djdiamonddog.com and also downloaded (for free) as well. The download link includes both a dirty and a clean version of this new age classic.

Be sure to stay tuned to djdiamonddog.com for more great releases!!

Forgotten Classics

http://www.djdiamonddog.com/popups/tracks/mix-forgotten_classics.zip

Primarily based out of the 50's through the 80's, Forgotten Classics takes you on a journey through some tracks that were (at one time) quite popular, but are now at back of the mind (if they're even there at all any more). There's also a few tracks from the 1990's and 2000's that have, similarly, lost their popularity. With artists ranging from Little Richard to Ray Charles and the Beatles to the Doors, how can you go wrong when you press play on this megamix? Answer: you can't. With all songs compressed into a 5 1/2 minute megamix, complete with a digital drum pattern to reinforce the percussion, this mix will get you up and out of your seat, no matter what your age is.

Sound good? You can stream Forgotten Classics right here or at djdiamonddog.com. Like it? Then you can also download it right here free of charge.

Be sure to check in regularly for more free mixes!! You can also follow me on Twitter and Facebook to get notified of whenever there are new mix uploads!!

Ponies In Paris (Ginuwine vs. Jay-Z)

Enter Ginuwine. A phenomenal R&B singer who took center stage in the 1990's with his massively successful hit... Pony. Pony was a very sexual hit that was great for grinding. Between his voice, the deep percussion and the street melody, it seems that everyone who enjoys hip hop and R&B enjoys this song, even 20 years later.

Pony has now been brought into the 2010's with 3 mashups. In Ponies In Paris, Ginuwine's voice flows smoothly over Jay-Z's street level jam, Niggas In Paris. Pony also takes a pop turn in Broccoli Pony with the implementation of DRAM's Broccoli behind Ginuwine's vocals. Last, but certainly not least, in Pony In My Cup (what a funny title), you get a very smooth mashup with Ginuwine flowing flawlessly over Kirko Bangz' Drank In My Cup. All 3 mashups are certified bangers and all 3 can be downloaded here. They are also all clean, so they can be played virtually anywhere.

There are several more mixes and mashups on the horizon, so stay tuned and be sure to keep up with me and my releases at my websitefacebook and instagram pages.  You can also browse and download via my mobile website at http://djdiamonddog.com/mobile/ (note: downloading via the mobile site will not work with IOS because iTunes will not allow it).
